CalvaryHospital invites mental health professionals and those in education, who work with children and teens, to our “Mentors Through Mourning” Program.
The training fee is $40.00 per session for mental health clinicians or funeral directors (Classes on May 5 and May 19 have been approved by NY State Dept of Health, Bureau of Funeral Directors for 1.5 credits).
** For graduate students or school professionals who are interested in serving as resources and guides for grieving children and teens within the school setting, this program is offered free of charge as a community service.
WHEN:This four week program will meet Wednesdays :
May 5 - “Living with Dying: An Overview of Grief, Coping, and Loss”
May 12 - “When Death Impacts the Classroom”
May 19 - “Special Needs of Bereaved Children and Adolescents”
May 26 - “Focusing on the Classroom: Special Needs of the Dying Child”
Each class will be taught by an experienced bereavement counselor
