CALVARY HOSPITAL NAMES STEVEN J. GOLUB AS NEW CHAIRMAN OF THE CALVARY FUND BOARD OF DIRECTORS
BRONX, NY, November 5, 2010 – Calvary Hospital today announced that Steven J. Golub has been appointed the new Chairman of the Board of Directors of The Calvary Fund. The Fund directs all fundraising efforts in support of Calvary’s unique and historic mission. A member of the Fund Board since 1995, Mr. Golub currently chairs the Fund Board’s Governance Committee. In recognition of his leadership and support of the Hospital’s mission, Mr. Golub was awarded the Hospital’s highest recognition, the Calvary Medal in 2001.
“Steve has been a true friend to Calvary Hospital, its patients and their families over the past 15 years. We are fortunate to have him serve on our board with such dedication,” said Frank A. Calamari, President and CEO.
“We are delighted that Steve has accepted the responsibility of being the new Chairman,” said Thomas J. Fahey, Jr., MD, Chairman, Calvary Hospital Board of Directors. “We expect that his leadership and vision will help the Hospital effectively attract support for the important work that Calvary does each and every day.”
Mr. Golub succeeds Richard E. Meyer, who passed away recently after serving as Fund Chairman since 2002. “Dick set a high level of accomplishment for the entire Fund Board to emulate. His commitment inspired us all,” added Dr. Fahey.
A Vice Chairman of Lazard Ltd, Mr. Golub serves as a Managing Director in the Banking Group of Lazard and serves on the New York Management Committee. He was formerly the Chief Financial Officer of Lazard from 1997 to 2001. As a Managing Director in Lazard’s Banking Group, Mr. Golub has served as an M&A advisor to many companies over the last 26 years.
Prior to joining Lazard in 1984, Mr. Golub was a Partner at Deloitte Haskins & Sells. Previously, he served as the Deputy Chief Accountant in the Chief Accountant’s Office of the Securities and Exchange Commission in 1979 and 1980. Mr. Golub serves on the Board of Directors of Minerals Technologies Inc.
Mr. Golub graduated from the City College of New York with a B.B.A. in accounting. He attended graduate school at New York University. He resides in New York City and Bedford with his wife and their two children.
