|Annual Bereavement Course - Spring 2011|
CALVARY HOSPITAL WILL OFFER ANNUAL BEREAVEMENT COURSE IN SPRING 2011
BRONX, NY, January 2011 – Calvary Hospital today announced that their 18th Annual Bereavement Course will take place on Mondays, 7:00-9:00 pm, from January 24 through April 4. The course is designed for those who work in the helping professions (social workers, nurses, funeral directors, etc.) who may need to address bereavement and grief related issues in their professional lives. (The course is not for bereaved family members.)
The Hospital’s 10-week course is taught by various specialists from Calvary Hospital and from Calvary@Home (Home Care and Hospice). See attached syllabus. Upon completion, each participant will receive a Certificate of Attendance.
For nurses -- This continuing nursing education activity was approved by the New York State Nurses Association, an accredited approver by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation. It has been approved for 20.0 CEUs.
For funeral directors -- NYS Department of Health; Bureau of Funeral has approved 2 CEUs per session; the entire 10 course series = 20.0 CEUs.
None of the presenters have a vested interest and have not received commercial support for this educational activity.
Fees are as follows:
- $225 per person to attend all 10 sessions; $200 each for 2-4 people registering from the same institution; and $175.00 for 5 or more people.
- People may also choose individual sessions for $50. (** CEUs will also be given for nurses and funeral directors who opt to take specific sessions i.e. each session = 2.0 credits.)
