Calvary Hospital Annual Bereavement Course to be offered March through May 2018

BRONX, NY -- Calvary Hospital’s 25th Annual Bereavement Course will begin on March 5 (at  the Bronx campus, on Monday nights from 6-8:00 pm) and on March 7 (in Brooklyn at St. Joseph High School on Wednesday nights from 6-8 PM).  The course is designed for those in the helping professions, and not for bereaved family members. This ten-week course on bereavement and grief related issues will be taught by various specialists from Calvary Hospital/Hospice. Upon completion, each participant will receive a Certificate of Attendance.

Upon completion, each participant will receive a Certificate of Attendance.  Continuing Education Credits and contact hours are pending from the NYS Department of Health, Bureau of Funeral Directors, ADEC (Association for Death Education and Counseling), and the PA Nurses Association. These courses have been approved for contact hours by; CASAC (Credentialed Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Counselor); CPP (Credentialed Prevention Professional); and CPS (Credential Prevention Specialist).     


The course fees are as follows

  • $225.00 for the full ten weeks (discounted rate);

  • $200.00 each (2-4 people in same institution);

  • $175.00 each (5 or more people in same institution);

  • $50.00 for the entire course (Graduate Students).

  • People may also choose individual sessions for $50. 

  • Checks should be made payable to Calvary Hospital.
