Voices of Calvary

Calvary Hospital is the only fully accredited acute care specialty hospital exclusively providing palliative care for advanced cancer patients in the United States.  We provide palliative care, which is the active treatment of the symptoms, not the cure of the disease, in order to make our patients as comfortable as possible.  Our programs include inpatient care, case management, outpatient care, hospice, home care, wound care, and support programs for families and friends.

Founded in 1899, Calvary today is comprised of a 225-bed hospital in the Bronx and a 25-bed Brooklyn Satellite at Lutheran Medical Center, the first "hospital-within-a-hospital" in New York State.  A dedicated team of more than 950 employees serves more than 5,500 patients annually at Calvary.
