Calvary Hospital’s Brooklyn Campus is the first “hospital-within-a-hospital” in New York State.
Patients at our Brooklyn Campus receive the same hallmark CalvaryCare® that patients receive at our main facility in the Bronx. Calvary Hospital is located within the same building as NYU Langone Hospital—Brooklyn. While this proximity allows us to be good neighbors and enjoy a robust reciprocal referral relationship, Calvary and NYU Langone Health remain independent organizations.
Our home care and hospice services in Brooklyn are designed to meet and address the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of patients and their loved ones, wherever they reside.

Calvary Hospital is proud to bring our care to Brooklyn. From its inception in 1899, Calvary Hospital has been faithfully devoted to providing care to adult patients in the advanced stages of cancer, and other life-limiting illnesses.
Our programs include inpatient care, case management, hospice, home care and support programs for families and friends. At our Brooklyn Campus, patients receive expert pain and symptom management from a multidisciplinary team.
Our Brooklyn location is centrally located and easily accessible from Bay Ridge, Greenwood, Dyker Heights, Borough Park, Bensonhurst, For Hamilton and Park Slope.

Calvary is proud to welcome patients of all backgrounds and beliefs. Any adult person who is diagnosed as having advanced cancer and other life-limiting illness and needing medical services in an acute care specialty hospital is a candidate for admission.

To date, our Brooklyn Campus has cared for more than 5,000 patients. Organized, staffed, and operated by Calvary Hospital, the campus occupies approximately 13,000 square feet on NYU Langone’s third floor, located at 150 55th Street, Brooklyn, New York.
At Calvary Hospital, the privacy of patients’ health information is taken very seriously. Our policy is aligned with The Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA) Privacy, Security and Breach Notification Rules.

Located at 150 55th Street in Brooklyn, our Brooklyn campus is located near the Belt Parkway, Gowanus Expressway, as well as the 53rd Street station on the R or 59th Street station on the N train, proudly serving residents throughout Brooklyn and in nearby communities. Parking is available on 55th or 56th Street, between 1st and 2nd Avenues.
Patient Rooms
Calvary Hospital-The Brooklyn Campus accommodates 25 patients, in a warm and state-of-the-art environment. The majority of patients stay in private rooms. Every effort has been made to assure a comfortable hospital stay.
What to Bring
Calvary Hospital-The Brooklyn Campus provides all patients with necessary items. Valuables should not be left at the patient’s bedside. It is recommended that dentures and eyeglasses be placed in protective containers when not in use. The Hospital is not responsible if these articles are lost or broken.
Staff chaplains are available to provide or arrange care for the spiritual needs of all patients from any religious community.
All are invited to use the Sister Aasta Chapel located off the main lobby, which is available for prayer and meditation

My husband Jimmy suffered terribly with the pain of advanced cancer. The HMOs denied us financial coverage for Calvary. They left us with Jimmy to die an agonizing death. But Calvary wouldn’t abandon us. You said, ‘If we can’t care for Jimmy, let us close our doors rather than close our hearts.
My daughter Priscilla was only 36 years old with terminal brain cancer. We thought it would be impossible to find a place with the same warmth and comfort of our home. Then we found Calvary Hospital. I believe that God gave us Calvary Hospital.
After caring for his patients his entire life, all the kindness was returned to my husband at the very end… at Calvary.

Throughout their entire lives, our parents sacrificed everything for us.
Our greatest gift to them during their final days was Calvary. True to the culture of proud Italian-Americans, our parents worked hard all of their lives so that their five sons could have the education and opportunities that they didn’t. So it was only natural that when dad had terminal cancer, then years later mom, uterine cancer, we took them to only place on earth that could relieve their pain and suffering with the most expert end-of-life care – Calvary Hospital – in the place they loved the most – Brooklyn. Both times, their physical and emotional pain was totally relieved with constant comfort, compassion and non-abandonment. But Calvary’s unique care didn’t stop with mom and dad. They also gave my brothers and me a whole new life that was stress-free. They took away our roles as caregivers and gave us back our simple roles as sons. We were all able to live our lives as a family again. Calvary took care of the rest. At the end of the day, Calvary and my parents had a lot in common: they made the good times great, and the tough times easier. Thank you Calvary.
We knew that dad, who was dying of brain cancer, would probably not make it to our wedding. Luckily, Calvary offered us their chapel for the ceremony. There was dad, sitting front and center at the wedding with his bright rosy cheeks… Dad passed away just a few weeks later, but not before you gave him back his love for life… and a front row seat at his daughter’s wedding.
My wife Doris loved life more than anyone. When her lung cancer began to spread, we prayed that the end would be pain-free. Our prayers were answered by the skills and compassion of the doctors and nurses at Calvary Hospital. Until the very end, we held hands, we laughed, we cried. Nothing is more miraculous than Calvary.

Peter, a trusted family friend and EMT, who suggested that we consider inviting Calvary Hospital to come into her home and provide another kind of cure, was right. The expert staff of Calvary@Home alleviated her physical pain, as well as the mental anguish through which our family, particularly my nonagenarian father, was suffering. In fact, your staff cared as much for him as it did for my mother. Your nurse, social worker, and rabbi made sure that my mother and all of us, her family, were granted peace and serenity, free from pain, stress, and anxiety. It was a perfect healing that combined compassion and care. We witnessed firsthand how Calvary truly is Where Life Continues.
