Jeffrey Menkes

Jeffrey Menkes has helped shape the landscape of healthcare in the New York Metropolitan region like few others. He has given his whole professional life of nearly 50 years to improving healthcare across Long Island, New York City, Queens, the Bronx, and Westchester. From a promising start as an administrative resident at Elmhurst Hospital in Queens, he rose rapidly through that organization to become the youngest CEO in any New York City hospital at the age of 31.

His vast experience has included leadership in some of the most prestigious hospitals and healthcare systems in the New York metropolitan area. Along the way, he has forged long-lasting relationships with many healthcare colleagues as a partner, a mentor, and an inspiring leader. His career has positively impacted the lives of countless patients, including some of the very neediest.

Prior to Calvary, Jeff was part of the Montefiore Health System for 1O years. He was instrumental in bringing Burke Rehabilitation Hospital into its health system and was President & CEO of Burke for over five years. He established Burke as a center for graduate medical education by creating residency and fellowship programs and significantly enhanced the Burke campus.
